Just Walk Across the Room

Read:  Matthew 9:9-13 The Calling of Matthew

Reflect: Notice in the Scripture for today that one of the first things Matthew did after Jesus called him to be a disciple was to invite his old tax collector friends (sinners) to a party at his house where he introduced them to Jesus. 

What’s so difficult about simply walking across the room and starting a conversation with someone?  The answer is, of course, that it’s a little intimidating for most people (even Bill Hybels) to engage a stranger in conversation.  

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 

Lord, bless us, protect us, guide us, take over our life and correct us, please give us Your eyes. Lord, replenish us, enlighten us, humble us, fill us up with Your wisdom, please give us Your heart. Lord, encourage us, cover us, stretch us, help us and forgive us, You gave us Your life. Thank You Lord. Amen.

A women in the Philippines, a missionary named Pamela, is pregnant. She is joyful that she is carrying another child. She is no stranger to the miracle of childbirth, this will be her fifth. She is praying that this pregnancy will be a simple and uneventful one. A long nine months of the usual challenges, and then a healthy new born baby. But things may not go the way we want them to all the time. 

Miracle? I can't believe it! But it's a miracle, I can't explain it! I said a prayer, with hope, in faith... and, and. It's a miracle, just believe it!
