Creating Space for Fellowship

At Cape Christian, we feel that discipleship happens best in community. Community with other believers, engaged in the Word, prayer, fellowship, and service to others. We feel that groups, or “circles” are great and safe communities where people can grow in their relationship with Jesus and other believers.

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine (teaching), fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers…so continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart."

Acts 2:42, 46

Being part of a group isn’t just about what you receive, it’s also about what you can give.

We all have a little piece of Jesus that is unique and God uses our gifts, pasts and passions to encourage and bless others. When you get involved, you have the opportunity to change lives, including your own.

Leading a group isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being serving others.

We believe people’s lives are changed when they are exposed to the love of God and the Word of God, and as a group leader you serve an important role in that process by giving others a place to connect.

“Being connected in Groups has deeply impacted my life by showing me the power of community—realizing I’m not alone, that others have walked through similar struggles, and that I have people I can rely on in hard times. Leading Groups has been just as transformational—watching others grow spiritually and find that same connection is a blessing I never expected. Most days, my group gives me just as much as I hope to give them.”

“Being part of this group has truly changed my life. I’ve found genuine friendships, constant encouragement, and a place where I feel seen and valued. I’m so grateful to grow together with such an amazing community.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Here, you’ll find quick answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • What type of Groups do you have?

We have everything from traditional Bible and book studies, to recreational or shared interest groups (bicycle, kayaking, motorcycle, crochet, pickleball ball and more) and also what we call Specialty Groups (GriefShare, Financial Peace University, CapeVets, DivorceCare, etc.).

  • How long do Groups meet for? What’s the time frame?

At Cape Christian, we run our Groups in what we call “semesters.”

    • The Fall Semester begins at the end of August and ends at the beginning of December.
    • The Spring Semester starts at the beginning of January and ends late April to early May.
    • The Summer Semester, aka “Grill & Chill,” runs June through August.

These semesters serve as on-and-off ramps for people to get in (and out of) Groups, but you can join a Group at any time.

  • Where do most Groups meet?

Most Groups meet in homes (that’s what we encourage), while others meet in coffee shops, restaurants, or other businesses. Occasionally, some of our medium to larger-sized Groups meet on the church campus, as space becomes available.

  • What are the requirements to lead a Group?

The process is simple. The first thing you'll do is to complete the Group Leader Application. Then, you'll meet with the Groups Pastor, and once approved, we will get you up and running.
